Bubsy 3D, also known as Bubsy 3D: Furbitten Planet, is a game developed by Eidetic and published by Accolade for the PlayStation. It is widely regarded as one of the worst games of all time.
Gameplay[]
The game's main character, Bubsy, roams around a forbidden planet (Hence the name) and collects atoms. Bubsy must jump from platform to platform in order to get to the goal. There are a couple of boss fights, such as Bubsy some how fighting math. Bubsy walks in a straight line only, taking the player much more time to move left and right. He can jump, swim and glide.
Development[]
Bubsy 3D was developed by Eidetic and published by Accolade and Telstar for North America and Europe respectively. It was designed by Michael Berlyn. After the release of Bubsy 2, which Berlyn described as having almost killed the franchise, he and his team began work on Bubsy 3D. He explained the development as a challenge, due to having no experience with controls or tools for drawing environments in 3D.
Reception[]
Bubsy 3D was met with extremely negative reviews, IGN giving it a 2/10, labeling it as the worst game on the PS1 GameTrailers named it the eighth worst video game ever made, calling it a Cheap imitation of a quality product, referencing it as a rip-off of Super Mario 64, a game that was released around the same time.
