Digimon World is the first game in the Digimon World series. The game stars a young boy who is chosen to save File Island, home of the Digimon.

Story[]

The story begins with a small group of children playing with their Digimon Virtual Pet devices. A young boy, the game's protagonist, arrives and watches a fight between MetalGreymon and MetalMamemon. When he goes home, he notices a strange light coming from his room. Looking at his own Digimon device, a Koromon appears, attempting to talk to him.

The boy is then sucked into the device. When he awakens, he is greeted by a group of Digimon. Among them are their leader, Jijimon, and the player's partner Digimon. Jijimon explains that File Island, the home of the Digimon, is in danger. Taking it upon himself, the boy recruits as many Digimon as he can in order to fix the island. Along the way, he begins to unravel an evil plot by the mysterious Analogman.
