Half-Life is the first game in the Half-Life series. The game was originally released on the (unreleased) Dreamcast and PC but was later ported to the PlayStation 2 in 2001
It takes place at Black Mesa (Similar to Area 51) Where Gordon Freeman and a bunch of researchers study and create alien like creatures. When Gordon goes in a portal the scientists are making it explodes killing the scientists who started up the machine. Gordon now has to escape all by himself just to get out of there.
You play as Gordon Freeman. A character who is a scientist who helps the scientists with whatever they need. He is the main character in the whole game (Since you play as him). Gina Cross is a character who helps out Gordon to survive. Isaac Kleiner is a scientist who survives the alien/zombie attack in the facility. He later appears in Half Life 2. And finally the G-Man. The G-man is a mysterious character that no one knows about even to this day.
- The game become a best seller for PS2.
- The game was ported only because the Dreamcast version was unreleased (even though there are over 1 million copys of the Sega Dreamcast version on etsy.
- The game is now hard to find being sold on amazon for $61 and $20 new and on ebay from $14-60
- The gameplay is the same from Dreamcasts but with cut levels and enhanced graphics
