It was unveiled on June 10, 2019, during its E3 press conference, and released on November 5, 2019 for Nintendo Switch, Wii, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Stadia. It was also the first game in the series to be released on Stadia. It is scheduled for release in Japan on March 12, 2020.

Ubisoft's announcement of the Wii version was met with surprise and ridicule from gamers who were left wondering about Ubisoft supporting a platform that has been discontinued since 2013; a Twitter user going by the handle alienaishas speculated that this was due to the Wii's very large install base, claiming that organizations such as hospitals use Just Dance as part of their patient rehabilitation programs. However, a Ubisoft representative denied the rehabilitation reason, stating to Polygon, A lot of our Just Dance series players are children and families who continue to play on Wii.

Gameplay[]

As with the previous installments of the franchise, players must mimic the on-screen dancer's choreography to a chosen song using either motion controllers or the game's associated smartphone app (Which, however, is incompatible with the Wii version of the game, in favor of exclusively supporting Wii Remote).
