The PSX, also known as the PlayStation X, is a digital video recorder (DVR) released by Sony on December 13, 2003. The system also had an integrated PlayStation 2 and it was designed for the general market. Due to the high cost of the system, there was a lack of consumer interest. About a year after it's release, it was discontinued. It was only released in Japan.

Features

The system was a video recorder and it came with a remote control. It also had S-Video, composite video, and RF inputs. In addition, it could use VHF and CATV. Through USB, the system could link to a PlayStation Portable and transfer both music and videos.

The system had video editing, image editing, and audio editing software as well as support for both PlayStation and PlayStation 2 software. Using a built-in broadband adapter, online games were supported. Memory cards and both DualShock and DualShock 2 controllers were supported by the system.
