PlayStation Mobile (PS Mobile) was a software framework used to provide downloadable PlayStation content for devices that meet PlayStation Certified requirements.
This includes Android devices, running Android 2.3 and meeting specific unannounced hardware requirements, as well as the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV.
History[]
The service launched in beta on April 1, 2011 for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, under the name PlayStation Suite.[1] Support was extended when the PlayStation Store for PS Certified devices launched on October 18, 2011 alongside compatibility with the Sony Tablet S.[2]
On October 3, 2012, the service saw its full release and was rebranded to PlayStation Mobile.
PS Mobile never really took off despite availability on a range of devices by many manufacturers and thus closed down on September 10, 2015.
